Two words. Mike Robertson!! Before I continue I should probably forewarn any readers … this is gonna be cheesy. Ooey-gooey love stuff. I can’t wait! Twenty-nine years ago, Mike made his debut – two weeks past his due date and chock-full of personality. Mike has what his Grandma A. likes to claim, “a little something extra.” And I agree 900 percent. As today is his birthday, I thought it fitting to put in writing my Top Ten list of classic “Mike-isms.”
Ahem.
10. If you don’t succeed on the last shot, keep trying ‘till you do. (Even if it’s gotten dark out, misquotes are biting, and you’ve made nine of the ten previous shots.)
9. Happily greet, learn and use the first names of virtually all service workers and then follow up with a less-than-typical conversation starter. Amused and bemused expressions all around.
8. Crunching numbers is equally as enjoyable as crunching Pringles potato chips. Yum!
7. Winning matters. Do it.
6. Rhyming terms of endearment is a uniquely creative skill.
5. Diet Mountain Dew is practically a fruit juice. Nutritious and delicious!
4. A no-nonsense businessman at work; a “warm fuzzy” husband and father at home. ;)
3. Campaign for a ward missionary calling. Missionary work is the BEST.
2. I’m a positive blood type. I see the good in the world. (And crack myself up over that reasoning!)
1. Work hard. Play hard. Love God and others.

ReplyDeleteOkay, that was ooey-gooey, but it was exactly how I would describe Mike too!!:) People are missing out a lot if they don't know Mike. He is one of a kind!:) And with that, I would like to add my two cents and say again "Happy Birthday Mike" we all love you!
