Perhaps it’s because I hate spending more than I have to. Probably has to do with being a first time parent. It’s definitely associated with a chronic case of indecisiveness, but I find myself in “analysis paralysis” when it comes to bigger baby purchases. Cribs, strollers, car seats … oh my! Like most parents, I want the best for my babes at, of course, the best price. So I find myself spending hours poring over information from Amazon reviews to Consumer Reports in hopes of landing the best buy. Problem is, after all the research it’s sometimes hard to commit! Anyone else share this problem? I should add that I am practically allergic to making returns. I loathe the possibility that after all the homework prior to purchasing something, I may have to go through the added process of sending/taking it back. Ugh! It’s an extra incentive to get it right the first time and be done.
Since our little Viking is practically off the charts in height and weight, his awesome infant seat will no longer suffice. Sad day! Homework time yet again – I set about looking for the perfect car seat (convertible: rear/ front facing). Our criteria:
1. SAFE: Obviously important.2. Affordable: These things are pricey!
3. Comfortable: No one likes sitting/sleeping on a scratchy, hard seat.
4. Durable: With the new car seat laws, I think Justin’s gonna have to be in one until he starts high school. Ha!
5. Room to Grow: I think it’s safe to say, that “J’s” going to get ginormous.
6. Not Ugly: A print I can stand looking at for a couple of years.
Hours of research later, we made our decision. (In truth, Mike made his decision in 10 minutes flat. Typical.) Although a compromise had to be made on print (I liked the “cowmooflage” and Mike isn’t a fan of our child sitting on what “looks like women’s clothing” – hahaha! Since when do women wear cow print?? Yuck.), safety trumps all – and Amazon deals are fantastic! Plus, I can always buy the “cowmooflage” cover later, right? Hee. Hee. Love ya, Honey!! ;)
P.S. Justin is now crawling! Last night was the first time he moved more than two steps. Video coming soon!
I may be one of the few, but I'm a fan.
Post the video of him crawling please?!! I want to see him crawling:)
ReplyDeleteYEAH another Britax fan. Yes they are pricey but soooo worth it. best ratings, best straps, they never get tangled and most comfortable. I had gotten the Marathon for sydney back when she was a baby and i have the cow one too and now it will be turin's once we move him into it which will be when we get a mini van which hopefully that will be soon and sydney has a booster now and london has a cute Giraffe cover on her marathon. You wont be disappointed and yes he will be able to be in it for a long time. Sydney is almost six and still can go in it. Cant believe he is crawling. so cute
